Now that we had plenty of delicious tea sandwiches in our bellies and cribbage games under our belt, the REAL adventure was set to begin! The boat ride to Hope Island was about two hours, and the island has few docks and is only accessible by boat. So we strapped on our life jackets, got our ponchos, put on on our rain boots, and set foot in a tiny little dinghy to climb onto the island and say our vows. It was wet, cold, and absolutely beautiful. We looked out into the Puget Sound, and as we were surrounded by towering evergreens, we shed the past and made a covenant to move forward in a bond that was stronger than ever. While these pictures cannot convey the beauty of that moment in full, thank you for taking time and making space to celebrate with us in spirit.
