After a yummy light breakfast and a flurry of activity and preparation, we were ready to set sail on the boat. We expected the weather to be less than optimal, but as soon as we set foot outside the door, the wind kicked up and the rain was coming down! But alas, that is November in the Pacific Northwest! We had a lovely tea party planned to enjoy on the boat as we made our way to Hope Island, a small island in the Puget Sound that is only accessible by boat. And while we had our hopes up that everything would go as we planned, as soon as we started out on the sea, we learned that our fancy tea party would have to be amended from fancy teacups to thermoses with lids! We did get a few good games of cribbage in using a board made by Lara's father. Lara also forgot her bouquet at the house, but we were able to improvise with some flowers that we had decorating the boat. One skill that we learned in our relationship was the need to grow and adapt, so this day was no different!
