Chapter VI – Happily Ever After

The day after our wedding, the skies cleared and, as we drank our coffee on the deck, we we awed by rainbow after rainbow (including a double or two) that appeared over the blue waters of the Puget sound. At that moment we realized what a perfect metaphor our wedding day was for our relationship. We weathered a storm and a period of darkness. We set out with excitement and navigated stormy seas to arrive at an island of Hope, where we made a commitment to our lives together. And as the clouds cleared from the sky and we celebrated, we were able to see the promise of a life of happiness together.

After we returned to the mainland we had a lovely cake and celebration with the boys and Rhonda. While not a lot has changed about our day to day lives, the heart and spirit of family has definitely flourished in our home. We loved our special day, but it was definitely a loss to not be able to include all of you. We hope to see all of you as the pandemic's grip on our lives loosens and it becomes safe again. We love you!
